Piano Wars

Dave Caruso is a songwriter and entertainer from Trenton, Michigan. For over 30 years, armed with keyboard, guitar, bass and drums, Dave has performed thousands of shows at hundreds of colleges, nightclubs and outdoor venues.

Dave's career began as the primary songwriter and front man who fueled the power pop band "Caruso," which featured Dave and his three brothers, Mike, Joe and Rob Caruso. Under Dave's musical direction, the band recorded 2 albums and 6 singles. They quickly earned a spot in the prestigious Miller Rock Network, sponsored by The Miller Brewing Company and tracks on two nationally released RCA Records compilation albums. Caruso was nominated-not once, but twice-by the National Association of Campus Activities for the Contemporary Music Award, an honor and distinction they shared with The Bangles, Huey Lewis and the News, The Police, and Journey.

In 2001, Dave began working as a dueling pianist. He got his start by studying dueling pianos acts in Michigan, Cleveland and Las Vegas. He has since performed at clubs such as Rum Bullions (The Silver Legacy Casino in Reno, NV), The Bar at Times Square (New York, New York Casino in Las Vegas, NV), Rum Runners (Mishawaka, IN and Lansing, MI), Casino Aztar (Evansville, IN), Monaco Bay (Kalamazoo, MI), J.D.'s Key Club (Pontiac, MI), and Sluggers (Chicago, IL).

Caruso's use of wigs, costumes and props make his show memorable, but it's his comic timing and audience rapport that make him a standout among dueling pianos entertainers. Often introduced as "The Man of a Thousand Songs," Caruso amazes audiences everywhere by his ability to play just about any song he's heard. (Actually, he's documented well over two two thousand songs he can play, but that doesn't roll off the tongue as well.)
